    the sound of the snow crunching over her heavy paws were music the beastie's rounded ears, how long had it been since the familiar sound met her ears when listened as if she was starving for the sound. snow, it had been two years since she had seen it's light and fluffy texture accompanied with it's usual cold chill. magical, her paws had lost it's callouses when fended off the chill on her padded paws as she had been an attraction in a zoo. after a careful and breezy escape she felt a delightful shudder as she welcomed the coolness with an eager half smile. after the great escape, duchess hokkaido had found animals that told her of blizzardclan - a place of snow and beauty. now as she reached the territory, the stories did not do the place justice as her murky gaze fell on the snowy area.


    it was when the scent of many other animals hit her nose that her large form paused in step and brows furrowed in slight confusion. there was an invisible line, scented strongly of territorial small and large creatures - she had come across this before but where she had been born, respectively. the cream brute settled down with a slight twitch of her meaty forepaws.

    it was when evergreen approached did the polar bear stand, the movement quite smooth despite her large size - murky brown orbs fell on the deputy with a calm gaze. hm, was this her first meeting with a blizzardclanner? that seemed to be the case as the mammal's shoulders relaxed and so did her tight lipped expression. with a voice deepened with age with a velvety hint, '' hello, there. my name is duchess and my reason for being here is to join this clan '', eyes briefly wandering behind the deputy before her burning gaze snapped back to the female. '' how would I go about doing that '', she did not know the process as she was new at this herself, but if she did not know the smartest thing to do was ask and so she did.

    another bear had arrived, the shock passed by the polar bear's slightly scarred features, for some reason she did not think she would see anything of her kind here. now, this was a surprise - a good, 'course. her eyes bore into the brown bear before a smile flickered across her cream colored maw, '' pleasure to meet you as well, Antonio - and thank you '', now she was a blizzardclanner. that was awfully quick, but the mammal was quite glad that it wasn't such a drawn out process. then she began looking back and forth as if the next step was impossible to draw out, turning her large head to the ones whom welcomed her she rose a small eyebrow in question.


    '' so I am just allowed to go '', her paw raised, slightly matted with snow as if she was deliberating if it was fine for her to 'make herself at home'.

    guess it was that time to get to know everyone, which she was completely fine with, but of course it'd be awkward for her - being isolated in a cage for two years didn't help. but, here she was - the polar bear shifted her beady eyes upon those who were gathered, a handful of blizzardclanners. she was not hard to miss as she strolled casually upon them with a calm expression, '' hello there '', briefly her eyes met zeus as her hardened brown orbs softened into one of greeting.

    these objects was something the mammal was quite familiar with, until recently of course, being in a zoo for two years had gotten her familiar with the attire of the pink and brown pigs. naked and clawless, unnatural and hideous beings, blinking a set of beady brown eyes she didn't understand the fascination. animals didn't need those objects as fur was quite nice alone, but perhaps it was because her kind was very adept to the cold. so, maybe - but still the excitement was contagious as a half-smile tilted on her thin cream lips.

    an obstacle course? hm, why not? the large behemoth made her way over, eyes low and expression concentrated and slightly grim. being in a cage did not help her muscles develop at all, so back to training and build up a lot more muscle and of 'course fat for the winter. lowering her chest low and her hindquarters did her long dangerous claws dig into the ground. her body was locked with tension and the need to bolt forward but she did not, waiting for the signal - anticipating it. soon, it would begin.

    so many faces had appeared and a smile threatened to erupt behind her calm façade but slowly did her pearly whites show as her lips peeled apart into a relaxing smile. looking to lineus with a small tilt of her giant head, '' I will be sure to do just that, lineus deenings; I might harass you with unending questions, my friend '', a brief chuckle ended her soothing words. she had not seen many feline's but it was the wings that threw her off more than anything, she had never seen anything like it - except on a bird. strange, yet interesting. honeysuckle was cute, very cute, the cheetah had almost blended into the sow as she frequently did since she had been in the snowy territory. with a small bob of her head, '' honeysuckle. hm, I think i'll call you hon, it's a pleasure - my dear '', the six year old stepped over the boundary line, leaving a deep imprint of her large paws.


    it was then her beady eyes met that of the sandcat's, cassie, quite a human sounding name if she heard one but it definitely fit and the bear gave a low hum of appreciation. cassie had arrived just after honey, so it was only right for the bear to introduce herself just in case her own name was lost on them. eyes lowered with a brief flicker of dark lashes, '' cassie, i'll remember that. my name is duchess, it's a pleasure '', she wasn't quite old but more of a young adult in her own eyes but childhood was lost on her with imprisonment. soon pastelkisses made herself known, happily to the female to see yet another appear at her joining. actually, for once it made the large brute ... warm. still she retained a small smile that had shifted from a toothy one to a tight lipped one, '' pastelkisses, fitting. nice to meet you '', the polar bear said as the wind once more ruffled her long white fur with it's delicious coolness.


    finally, the last to arrive was another cheetah cub and cute just like the last but this one was not female but male - lowering her chest closer to the ground with a curious expression. an amused laugh forced it's way out as his paws seemed to run away from eachother, with a warm expression. the female reached down and placed her nose on his chest to aid the male up on his paws. soon curling a paw to her own broad chest, '' the pleasure is mine, my lord '', eyes dancing did duchess settle back on her hindpaws.

    an eating contest. was it even fair that she should join... well, life wasn't fair and she wanted to be amused and a bite to eat would suffice. siddling up with a mischievous smirk, the polar bear sat down with a look of curiosity - the six year old had no idea who she would partner up with, but then again she was new.

    it was quite obvious despite her physical form being present, the polar bear was lost in thought, the tension in her well developed muscles and bones became almost painful. she was ready, ready to speed off in an abyss of speed and exhilaration - so fitting, so precise. ever late, the white mass sprinted forward easily passing those who had decided to take a slower approach to the obstacle course. but not duchess, she would be fast and flexible, no - she wanted to cross the finish line with her head held high.
